Saint Michael's Spring/Summer 2025 collection continues the brand's practice of colliding American pop culture icons with sacred text and cinematic reference. This piece takes Beavis and Butt-Head — Mike Judge's MTV animated duo, the defining anti-heroes of 1990s American slacker culture — and redraws them as suited adults: the two characters rendered in a hand-painted, editorial illustration style, dressed in dark suits and ties, their familiar faces and postures intact but their context entirely transformed. The recontextualization is Saint Michael's central gesture — taking the most deliberately lowbrow icons of American pop culture and placing them in the visual register of authority, formality, and consequence.
The front composition layers three elements: the MTV logo at the upper left (the original broadcast home of Beavis and Butt-Head, here functioning as both a cultural citation and a graphic anchor), the "SAINT MICHAEL" wordmark in the brand's signature distressed type, and the suited Beavis and Butt-Head illustration at the centre, rendered in a loose, gestural painting style against the smoke-grey base. At the bottom of the front panel, "SAINT" is printed in large-scale yellow collegiate type — the house name as a graphic element, the yellow reading as the composition's sole warm color accent against the cool grey and dark illustration palette.
The back is the piece's most text-dense element: at the top, "SAINT" in a distressed, hand-rendered typeface anchors the back panel.
